Welcome back, here's what you need to know
Welcome back NM! For the new students, freshmen, and returning sophomores, juniors and seniors, this is what you need to know for the beginning of the 2024-25 school year.
Add-Drop Period ends next week on Friday September 6th. For all schedule changes and inquiries please ensure you get your name on your respective counselors list in guidance. They will be going in order of priority, if you are just switching a class it might be awhile before they get to you!
Senior Photos do not yet have a confirmed submission date but are typically due the last day before Thanksgiving break (November 26th). More information about how to submit your photos will be released by Ms. Wiechers and Yearbook within the coming weeks!
The Athletic Game schedule can be found here for those interested in supporting our student athletes! Notably the first home football is on Friday, September 6th. Keep an eye on instagram for a trench theme!
Parking Passes are required to park on campus. Applications can be found in the front office, prices start at $180 and are reduced by $5 every subsequent week in the school year. Ms. McLeman or Ms. Hodgson will make your price known when you collect the application.
Class Elections will be held within the next week for class officers. For incoming freshmen of the class of 2028 you can get your name on the ballot in order to represent your class. Class officers are responsible for holding events periodically throughout the school year in order to raise funds for their prom and senior week. Anyone interested should contact Student Council President Rebekah Sylvester (25sylvesterrebekah@nmrsd.org).
The next SAT date is October 5th. For those seniors who are applying early action and early decision, this is likely the last chance you have to take the test before November deadlines. You can register to take the SAT here. Seats at nearby schools are still available but act fast, these tend to fill up quite quickly.
School store flash sale! This week only you can get some crazy discounts on some NM apparel at the school store located right under the main stairs. The store is open 11:30 to 12:30 during lunch blocks.
On a personal note: School is overwhelming sometimes and it is always okay to ask for help. Please do not be afraid to reach out to your teachers, counselor, coaches, or administrators whenever you are in need. Communication is essential and always remember we are getting through the year together. Make sure to do your part in ensuring that NM is a community where anyone can feel safe, welcomed and accepted.
